Volunteering with refugees

Overcome barriers together!

In the project “Hürdenspringer” in Tempelhof-Schöneberg, you get to know new people and support them in getting a foothold in Berlin. German language skills of B1 level are required to take part in the project.

Sport activities

For shared accommodation, we are looking for volunteers to help us organise sports activities for children and young people!

Childcare

In various refugee accommodation places, there are recreational activities for children. For these, we are looking for volunteers who already have experience in working with children and young people.

About us

    Our motivation

The project Berlin Volunteer Support (BEVOS) 07/2022-07/2023 served as a support for volunteers in refugee assistance in Berlin. Berlin Volunteer Support (BEVOS) serves as a home for refugees supporting communities in Berlin. The project has emerged from the Berlin Arrival Support Berlin Arrival Support (BAS) initiative and is intended, among other things, to maintain the BAS community of volunteers at the train stations and strengthen its structures.

BEVOS creates a platform for education, networking, and knowledge exchange for volunteers who support refugees. The project aims to empower volunteers and supply tools to enhance the effect of volunteering with refugees.

      The project includes the following:

      • Training and qualifications (workshops and seminars)
      • Support, match and consult volunteer projects and volunteers (Volunteering with refugees)
      • Acknowledgments and networking opportunities (Events)
      • Enabling access to the job market (working in social work)
      • Sharing collective knowledge on grassroots volunteering for arriving refugees
